Poppy with it's new LED setup

Here's my Poppy with it's new LED light setup installed. Thanks again to Mike Connally for his invaluable help on my first setup. So that's what the letter "K" on the resistor package means.... I only hope the wind dies down here soon!

Thanks, Mike! That's "Taz" at the controls. It's got a GWS "A" drive with an 8X6 prop instead of the stock 480 motor, which takes almost 3 oz. off of the weight. Here's a brighter picture. Furnaceman, the LED on the side looks good! Is that a GWS E-Starter?

It should be said that the poppy has a 370 or 350 A drive not an ips.

I hope to be doing this soon too, except I want to try and make a removable "disco ball" with a deans connector.

I have a GWS Slow stick and wanted to make a mount with a foam disco ball suspended under the plane. The disco ball would have several LEDs mounted in it with four front facing 1000mcd white LEDs, two diffused LEDs pointing up lighting the bottom of the wings (in different colors for orientation) and then two pointing back to light up the tail feathers.

The advantage is that it should light up the plane rather than just looking at the LEDs and its easily removable for day-time flight, but hte disadvantage is that its only lighting up the bottom surface well. I think there would be enough bleed and spillover of the light that it could be viewed even in a high bank turn w/o issue.

That sounds really cool...It needs it's own power supply so it can be dropped as a night bomb

My slow stick hanging from the ceiling. No disco ball tho. And I did end up adding red leds to the top of each wing tip.
Its as eazy to see at night as in daylight, maybe more so.
