What controller to buy for brushed motor with LiPos

I'm fairly new to electrics. I'm building a few depron foamies and putting a GWS-350C "D" motor in each.

I've heard that LiPo's have different cutoff voltages than NiCd/NiMh, and that I had better not let my voltage get to low.

I am looking for some inexpensive controllers with BEC for these motors that have the voltage cutoff set for LiPo. Who sells them? I expect 5-10A continuous draw.

TIA,

Jon

Go for a Castle Creations Pixie 20P...programmable low voltage cutoff...6v for 2s lipo, 9v for 3s lipo. Can get em on here for around $30...new cost a little more like $35

Thank you.

I had just heard about Castle Creations recently. I have had a tough time finding any "LiPo" compatible speed controllers. The market's changing pretty fast these days.

The Pixie 20P is an excellent choice, though it is $39.95 on the CC website - who sells it cheaper than the manufacturer?

Cheers, Phil

toddsmodels.com has em for $36.95. Sure there are other places that are even cheaper.

It will "work", but the cut off voltage is set for NiCd or MiNh and is too low for LiPo. It is not programable and therefore one must learn to observe the loss in power to determine that the Lipos are dropping voltage. This is not very accurate and you risk discharging the LiPos too deeply which can ruin an expensive pack.

The really only safe way is to purchase the Pixie or any other programable ESC mentioned above.
