Uberlite 2 in 1 Slowflyer

Two Airframes in One Box

Splash

Fly Indoors with the Uberlite

The Uberlite is a unique slow flyer that is designed for indoor flying spaces. It uses a geared brushed motor for power and magnetic actuators to control the rudder and elevator and it flys on a single cell 65mAh Lipo battery. The unique part comes when you look at the design. The front half is a power system/control pod that attaches with magnets to the airframe in seconds. Even the control linkages are magnetic and the whole airframe is designed to break away in the event of a crash to protect the airframe from damage.

You get two airframes in the box, a monoplane and a biplane, so you can chose how you want to fly. It's really clever. The battery charges via an included USB charger which can also connect to the bottom of the transmitter. You can expect flight times of 6-8 minutes and you can order the plane with Mode 1 or Mode 2 transmitters.

See the Uberlite at HobbyKing.

Jason, can we get some detailed information about your experience with the set up and flying. This seems more like a product announcement than a review

The Heading is "NEWS" This is not a review. It is an announcement of a product HobbyKing has announced.
Yes Bob it does look similar to the planes Tower Hobbies sold previously. Mike Heer

I have these and they fly OK. I don't much care for the magnetic actuators though.

But maybe they're lighter than servos.

We bought one of these at the UK Nats last August, and flew it within a hangar in the evenings.

Obviously not a new design, but good fun for all that.

Flies very nicely in either configuration. Enough said!
