Electric conversion of the Sig Cadet Senior

I have been building and re-kitting models for about 25 years. I have been interested in E-Power for some time, but I haven't learned as much as I should.
I am looking for suggestions on what power system would be best for a Cadet Senior that I have sitting on my bench. I was planning to hang a .45 four-stroke (please, don't throw anything at me! I know mentioning wet power is tantamount to going into a health food restaurant and ordering steak!)in the nose, but decided that this may be the perfect bird for my electric education.
So, that being said, can any body help me?

Do a search in the sport plane forum, several members have done this very conversion. Have seen the seniorita with a Magnetic Mayhem car motor that flew very well on 10 cells. That combo won't fly your senior as well but I am sure someone has more info on it.

Im sure lots of people will chime in, I have flown mine on a astroflight cobalt geared 40 with 18-20 cells, but I now fly it with a Maxcim 13y Brushless motor with 3.75:1 gearing and a 15x10 prop with 20 cells, fly's like it has a .61 on it almost.
I also added flaps, Ailerons, took most of the dihedral out of it, and made it a bolt on wing and taildragger.

I am flying mine with an Aveox 1409 3Y and the 3.6:1 planetary gearbox, on 20 or 21 cells depending on what I brought; with an 18x10 prop.

It has 'decent' acceleration...but the top speed is limited to about 40 mph. Loops, rolls, you name it.

Incidentally, my wing(s) are 91 inches, extended because I fly off floats and wanted to keep landings slow. Needn't have minded, as the model has plenty of wing anyway.

I am covering the 'new' wing - added flaps to this one, still keeping the ailerons I had on the first wing. Why? I like to fly backwards.

Incidentally, my Kadet Senior weight is 9 pounds with wheels, 11 pounds with floats.

What size of cells are you using and how are you charging them?

I use a 3-7's (21 cells total) pack of NiCd 2000's; and 2-10's (20 cells total) of NiMH 3000's.

I charge them on my different chargers at 4.5 amps until the charger says they are done.
