Motocalc says I'll get 13.7oz thrust with 5.8amp draw. On a 7oz plane should really rock-n-roll!

I am very happy with these Stevens AeroModel GWS Stick mount motor mounts. High quality!
Here's a pic of one holding an AXI 2212/34. It also works for the following:
AXI 2208-x, 2212-x
MEGA RC400/7/x, RC400/15/x
Tweety torque speed
AstroFlight 010

Already have one in the Potenski Eagle.
This one is going into the GWS Zero.

I went by Graves on Friday and picked up one of those Shock Flyers also along with a Dandy GT. I talked with Ray and Chuck and they recommended the AXI 2208/34 for the Shock but as usual they didn't have it in stock. I'd like to see yours in action with the Nippy. When do you plan to maiden yours?

Hobby Lobby has a good procedure on making a motor mount for the AXI or similar mounting system. All that is needed is 3/32" Plywood or Lite Ply.

Hi Guys,

I was wondering which Mabuchi motor in MotoCalc equates to the EPS-350 motor. I see one called the 380, and a bunch of other, but no 350.

Any help would be appreciated.

After some research I came up with the following list of acceptable motors:

1. NippyBlack 0508/73
2. PJS330 SFR
3. AXI 2208/34
4. Typhoon Micro6
5. Microtex 20/5/18
6. Home-brew CDROM drive

There is a lot of info about mounts for the AXI, and it seems to be the most popular motor for this plane. But the Nippy has got to be the most beautiful motor I've ever seen (my purple Hacker B50 w/ heat sink now comes in second). I know- that's a crazy reason to pick flight hardware- BUT- the specs were right too...
I promised my wife I wouldn't build this plane until the taxes were done, so it may be a week or so till I'm in the air with it...

My Motocalc has a listing for the EPS-350, but I'm not sure if it was a user-contribution or a standard item. Motor Constant: 5500 rpm/V, No-Load current: 0.9A, Resistance: 0.15ohm, Weight: 2.2oz. I can't find any Mabuchi that corresponds to these specs...
