AC prop adapters for 3.0 mm and 3.2 mm shafts

There seem to be lots of posts asking for info on prop adapters so, as a service, I thought I'd share with you the latest offering from Nippon Dave at www.aircraft-world.com which reached me by parcel post for $2.50 postage in exactly a week.

These little guys weigh less than 1g: the 3.0mm size is ideal for GWS IPS and EPS 300's, and for Microtex and Little Screamer motors: the 3.2mm size suits AXI 22xx/xx series. APC SF props fit perfectly on the conical "boss", GWS RS series are okay, but not as stable as the APC's, and GWS HD's don't really fit too well.

Here are three photos for your perusal (Microtex 20/5/18 is the 'model').

Cheers, Phil

Prop adapter on Microtex - Duh! forgot the link in the initial post. These are called "AC Prop Saver 3D Wobbly AC-ADAPWOBB-30" - $3.60.

I was looking at these trying to figure out how this was a prop adapter. The I saw the rubber band, and realized it was a prop SAVER..

Sorry Andy - I'm usually the pedant here! But if one is using an APC SF prop, which would not normally fit directly on to a 3mm shaft, we are talking about a prop adapter as well as a prop saver, aren't we!

Cheers, Phil

IPS are 2mm shafts so these wouldn't fit right?

Perfect for the microtex though thanks Dr. K.

Funny - I just noticed that your motor isn't red like mine.

The IPS shafts are 3mm so the 3.0s will fit. I just received 14 of these to go with some of the Microtex motors that should reach me any day. The 20/5/**s have a 3mm shaft while the 20/8/**s have a 3.2mm shaft.

By the way, my digital scale finds them to weigh 1.7 grams each with the screws included.

Dang, Hugh, your digital scale is better than mine. Mine only weighs in 2g intervals and whether I put the saver on by itself, or with the Microtex, it didn't register any change in weight! - I assumed the saver itself must be ~1g.

I'm glad I also got the 3.2mm version for the 20/8/18, which will be winging its way in my direction very soon - he says, hopefully, plaintively,............

Call me SOON to say you have your hands on them! And, Hugh, I'll take a second 20/8/18 (and one each of the prop savers:3.0 and 3.2) if you have spares.

Cheers, Phil

I've got one of the 3.2mm versions on my Typhoon Micro 6. Found I needed to ream out both the GWS SF and the APC SF props I use but that isn't a problem. Nice, light and cheap too.
