Power plant for Silent Dream

I'm new to sailplanes and electric flight and would like some advice on what is recommended to power a Silent Dream glider (w/s 86"). Need the motor (in-line gearbox), folding prop, controller, batteries. Can I do this under $150?

yeah, you can. Hobby Lobby does the Graupner S600, gear boxes and folding props. The prop will vary, and I am sure there will be a bunch of other guys posting that will tell you.

Personally, I have an Aveox F10 LMR in mine.

best bang for the buck motor..trinity chamelon pro 19t $35 gear box...mj 3.8-1 $25 speed control... astro 215d $55 battery...cp1700scr $45 prop...12x7 folder $40 this will give GREAT performance. ken troxell

HI Amigoone,
This question comes up quite often, for this model, I assume its the FVK 2.2 metre Silent Dream, this is what I use, Graupner Speed 600 SP BB 8.4v, (thats the better 600) with a Graupner 2.8 to 1 inline box, prop. CFK 14" x 9.5" folder, controller Jeti JES 350, battery 7 or 8 cell Sanyo 2000's, this by no means is a hot set up, but one that works very well, in fact its one of FVK's recommends, I dont think this would be in your price range even in the States, but a less expensive Speed 600 other than the BB SP would be OK, and the same with the CFK prop. (expensive) a Cam prop is OK,
