Save you straining at my avatar. These are the 2001 favourites. The parkies and indoors are missing, sorry.

Really cool, Pat. Tell us more about your F4Fs (size, span, power, etc). I really like the VF-41 "Greentail" in the foreground. A Speed 400 F4F is definitely on my "must do" list.

This is a J&R Islander kit with my own design landing gear. It was originally designed for 2 Speed 400's running in parallel on 7 or 8 1400-2000 mah cells. It also had no landing gear, hand launch only. I had since modified it with 2 geared AP-29's and then 2 Velcom 2020/27's with Astro 2.38 GB's running on 8 cells each. I was using KR1400Ae cells but am going to try 16-CP1300's. This is the oldest plane in my stable still flying (2 yrs). It gets super long flights with plenty of touch and goes and an occasional loop or roll. I've been told this is Not scale like flight, but I'm having fun!

The Wildcats were lazer cut from a set of plans of Hurst Bowers' F4F from Model Aviation in the early 80s. Wingspan is 32 inches, power is GWS with 8 inch props on 8 270 NiMH, 3 or 4 channels with all micro stuff (GWS servos, reciever, etc). Weight varies from 7-10 ounces (mine is the grey one in Wake Island defender markings and the green tail is Don Srull's) and they are a ball to fly and handle the wind pretty good. They are much lighter than speed 400 planes would be. Several of the DC Maxecuters have built these now--I think 7 or so.

Pics

Excuse the blurriness of my pictures. I only have a webcam available to capture the images.

Here is a picture of my latest project. An Electrostreak, powered by a Jeti 30/3 motor on 8 cells. I'm in the middle of the covering process. So far the stabilizers, rudder, elevator, and bottom of the fuselage have been covered. I assume it will fly pretty fast using a 9x6 prop.
