L-39 build thread

HI

This is the first time i'm posting pictures, and this is my first jet, so this should be some fun. The kit comes tommarrow, but here's a pic of the power train. Mega 16/15/2+Mini 480+jeti 40 opto.

WOW

Didnt think i would be able to get it on.
BTW that is balsa between the wires, need to get some electrical tape.
I LOVE this fan, i ran it up the other day, and it was hovering at 1/8 throtle! Cant wait to put it in teh plane.

If anyone sees me doing something wrong or has some suggestions, let me know. I'll post pictures every evening, as work moves along.

you should replace the tamiya connector with a gold/deans ultra/sermos unit.

Thats on the top of my to do list. I just temporarily hooked that up to see if the motor ran, which it did.

Well that plane finally came, and i dove right into it. The only thing that was dissapointing was the lack of pushrods, horns etc. and the lack of pictures in the instructions, but oh well. Here are some picture of the build. Preparing the sheeting

Here's how i glued the sheets together. I raised them like this, then added teh glue, made real easy.

Cut out intakes. I cut out a bit too much, and didn't leave the 1/4 inch in the corners. Will this be a problem?

Last picture. The tail feather are ready to be hooked up. I'm going to put a functioning rudder so i can do knife edges Time into project: ~2hours. I'm now waiting for the wings to dry, and tommarrow i'll probably be ready to cover the wings!
