I picked up a few 'Expert' brand sub micros that seem to work well on aileron, elevator (and maybe pitch - I have an HS55 in there now and hate to remove it). A little slow at .12 sec for tail though. Seem to fit perfectly.

I would stick with Lipoly cells although lighter nimh cells may work fine. I have flown mine briefly with an 8 cell pack of 600AE and it worked for hovering but was a bit too heavy. You will be much happier with a light setup and the heli will be able to survive a crash with less mass. I had the motor cut off in flight this weekend and the heli dropped straight down - the main rotor slowing it slightly as it spooled up the opposite direction - battery popped out on impact but no damage.

When looking for servos for the Zoom what are some suggestions? What specifications (weight, Torque, speed, size) should I look for when choosing servos?

My packs are 3S1P like you said
They are 100 grammes heavy
I get around 18 minutes flying soft 3D
The motor is awesome with its 39 grammes !!!!

Rerazor
I am glad with Hitec HS 55 and HS 50 for the tail
I think the torque is enough for this heli and i don't feel the need for looking to save weight as the heli is so "Healthy "

Regards

So when it comes to servos the torque is the main specification to look at. I would also think the amount "draw" the servo uses would be of importance?? Which spec. shows/list this?

There just seems to be such a large variety of small servos on the market with price ranges from one end to the other.

Here's the applicable spec for a Hitec HS-50: Current Drain: 8mA/idle and 100mA no load operating

This is one of the factors that make the HS-50 so popular. Low current drain is a very desirable feature especially when you are operating 4 servos off a BEC.

Cheers - Boyd

What servos are tested to fit and work in the Zoom?

I use Futaba 3106 all around, itīs a 0.9 sec servo.

What I understand, the HS-55 will fit.

HS-50 is great for the tail, beacause itīs fast, but not so powerfull for cyclic and pitch right?

Which other servos will fit? I guess GWS Naro should be OK?
What more are you guys using?
