John wrote an excellent review, really made me want to buy one
![]() if I were you i would go with John's suggestions as for power options. a magnetic mayhem is a very good candidate although almost any speed 600 type motor would fit in. i'm assuming you are asking about the 450 motor because you already have one, well, I can't help here since i'm not familiar with this motor but i'm sure others will offer their advice. good luck, Oded. |

Hobby Hanger Scout
I would really like to get one of these and wanted to see what a good power setup would be.
I was thinking of using a geared Turbo 450 with a larger prop and 1400AE or 800 AR cells. I would like to get the flight characteristics like in the EFI review, but I'm not sure what motor he was talking about. |

Go do a search on the Scout in the Sports forum, lots of info on it thereabouts.
John Emms is presently on holiday, he normally hangs out down in Sports. He used a variety of motors in the "600" class, on direct drive. Also look up GWRIGHT on that kit, though his 10 x 3000 nimh cell, 400 watt geared version is a tad different from the kit model ![]() I've got the flying boat "version" - the Pondside uses the same wing. Great little model, mine has an Astro 035 on direct drive, 7 x 4 APC prop and seven cells. Regards Dereck |

... guess i'll hold back at adding more pics as they don't come up in the correct order or don't appear at all if you try to post them consecutively ....
..as shown above the decision was made to put the packs above the battery board and the receiver below. This will allow room for larger packs to feed the planned Phaser 15/4 motor Bill Last edited by retiredVTT; Dec 19, 2003 at 07:37 PM. |

Looks good. Are you putting the battery on top of the tray as opposed to slung under it?

i personally cannot see the point of making something bigger when you could make it smaller. Small is nice because you can fly it indoors or in your backyard, but if you want to fly big stuff, why not just buy an airplane?
