GWS' Fly Pizza

Hey!
I was just woundering how the GWS Pizza does(flight and "3D'') before I order mine.
How does it compaire to the EZ Bug &/or Angle?
Do you recomend rudder, or not?
Is it only hoverable on Lipoes, or can I use my GWS 7-8cell packs?

Thanks, you input is VERY much appriciated
-Jake

It has a slowflyer airfoil, its not flat, thus no inverted flight. Flat is symetrical for 3D, thus there is inverted flight. It will have power to hover from what I've seen, but it may move foward while hovering due to the way the airfoil works possibly.

Hope my guess helps.

She can do many 3D funfly than your expect!

With rudder would be even better when vertical hovering.

But wouldn't it affect the weight some? I need the lowest weight and the most thrust possible.

By the way, Mr. Lin...I CAN NOT GET ENOUGH OF GWS!! The SS taught me to fly and then the Funnypark helped me into my warbirds...great work! I know you hear that alot...but I had to say something!
I E-mail Debbie a couple months back and she said the DC-3 would be in the USA by March...its March. Any idea when its going to be ready for shipping to the US?
Can't wait for to see her in my 'hanger'!

bookie2, check out the vid of it and the easy bug on the GWS site...
Yes, I know about the forward hover, but as long as I can fly it around @ band practice(in the band room hehe) i'll be fine!
I tryed the TM as a "band room flyer" but it did work too well.
I could bearly keep up with it!

I have the EasyBug and GoldAngel, they both hover very easy.
I fly the EasyBug almost daily for two months, inverted flight is no problem, roll rate is a little slow. I have about 20 hour flight time on the stock 350 motor, HD1060, I use Kokam 2S 1500 and can fly for 20 minutes. She flys the same with the 8 cell AAA NiMH but the flight time is shorter.
Some how I like the EasyBug better, may be I fly her a lot more than the GoldAngel. I don't have the Pizza but I think all three model has similar flying character.

I only have one 8 cell, but its not putting out as much power as the 7s( )
im not worryed about being able to pull out, just as long as I have a 1:1 thrust ratio @ least, i'll have some fun.
I am going to paint it and not go with the "pizza" theme, Is there anything I need to know about the foam or covering?

fwiw, mine's pretty nice with 8 cell KAN650 (2/3 AA) and 10x4.7, it will hover but pull out is very marginal - about similar performance with 2s LiPo's though (tried 1200 Etec, 340 Kokam, 1320 TP). Still have to try other prop combos to get the best out of the setup. I did try a 3s Tanic 1100 pack - this will rocket the Pizza straight up Oh, 3 servo setup btw.

Im going to try the only setup ive got(GP 4ch microRx, 2-3 Hobbico HS-22 sub-micros, GP C-10ESC, and GWS 7(and 8 if I can get it to work)cell 730mAh pack(s).
If it doesn't work(with any of the prop combos) i'll ask Qs them.
Thanks for the help guys.
Mine should be in by tuesday.
But I have noticed that the wheels are from the Funnypark and they look alittle too oversized for that size plane...Whould I still have enough clearance upon step(with a 10" prop) with wheels from a P-51(about 1.5")?

I fly my EasyBug with 3 GWS pico servos, stock 350"C" motor/gb using the HD1060, Kokam 2S 1500 lipo, the AUW is about 11.2oz. She hovers at about 60-70% throttle and she hover best with light wind. The climb rate is very good, I usually shoot her up to the sky at the beginning of the flight and cut the power to glide her and resume power to hover about 3 feet about ground.
The HD 1060 hovers better than the 9070 prop and draws less amps.

My pizza is stock with a etec 2s (1200) I use a gws 1080 prop. It will hover, climb vertically out of it. It easily flies inverted, does both inside and outside loops, in less that 10 ft dia.

I use the rudder alot and like it. I think you need it to do 3D. example: rotate it while hovering.
Mine weights in at 10.2 oz.

The most fun plane I've ever flown.

Sounds like lipos are the only way to go, but sorry for me who can not afford a lipo pack or 2 AND a charger for them. I might have to order 2 and save one for when I do have enough money for a lipo setup!
How does a 11x4.7 APC do on the 'C'?

Flying the Pizza with Astro 010 in GWS 300C-B GB and 10 650KANs. What a hoot! Unlimited fast vertical and most everything else. Still lands like a feather. Love the little jewel. Rudder is hooked up. As you can see I cut in lots of rudder!
