1. What would be a good 3D plane for a beginner at 3D'ing lol?
Download the free 3DX plans from www.foamyfactory.com. On low rates it files like a slowflyer. Kick up the throws and it an excellent platfor to learn 3d. It can do it all. 2. What motor, esc, batteries, servos, etc would be needed? I am assuming a BL setup, hopefully I dont HAVE to run lipoly batteries since I have a really nice nimh/nicd charger. Himax 2015-4100 BL motor, GWS 350C drive with "D" 6.6:1 gearing, GWS 12x6 SF prop, 1200-1500 3s LiPo or 8 cell Kan 650's NiMh's, Castle Creations Phoenix 25 BL ESC 3. Is there any other advice you can give me on 3D flying in general? Set a clear goal for each flight (screwing around is a vaild goal). Make yourself use the rudder or you will never get nice controlled maneuvers. Work your way up to more difficult moves. Start with Knife edge in both directions (belly in and out). Get comfortable with rolls and snaps in both directions, neg and pos snaps. Pick a move, read about it, practice the stick inputs on your tx, get some altitude and give it a shot! |
