Does this sound right? irate 850

Hello all,
My SA Dystraction has a Typhoon micro 6 and flew it with etec 2s700 w/ GWS HD 7x3.5

Just enough to keep it flying wings level. RPM was about 10,000 at 4amps. I put my new irate 850 2s pack and a GWS HD 8x4 which seems like twice the prop. Have not had a chance to fly but did tach it and guess what... abuot 10,000 RPM

Is this due to the irate holding up under better under load? WOW what a difference. Did not get a chance to check current.

Mike, did not see the 850 on your website only the 830. I hope you will carry the 850 for the same price you recently had. A great cell at a great price.

Thanks Aaron

Irates do hold up better than e-techs, capacity for capacity.

Howver new e-techs are in the pipeline....

4 Amps on a .7Ah cell is about 5.7C, which is close to the limit of Etec cells. By then, voltage is already dropping off significantly. Attempts to draw more Amps from the cells will only result in the voltage dropping further.

The Irates are rated for 10C, and a TRUE 10C at that, so even if you're drawing twice as many Amps with the larger prop, you're still in the 9C area.

The 830's you saw are replacements for the 850's. Get this, they have 10% higher voltage under load than the 850's. I haven't used my 850 packs yet, but have used 2s2p 500 and 2s 1300's and love them to death (no not really)! They transformed my plane from barely flyable to WOW! it flys like a bird and needs throttle management.

Flyit and see for yourself!
