Yippee!
How about my old GWS War Birds come with EPS-300C?

I just tested old EPS-300C War Birds on yesterday. They flew with great performance when with 8 cells and match EP9070, EP9075 prop.

You may even can think about to use an EP9050 prop with 3 cells Li-Poly. However, she will need to match a new ESC which can handle high voltage of the BEC. GWS will work on new ESC as soon as possible.

May be I should call this "3 cells Li-Poly version"!?

Did you try any adventure? Tell us what you got?

Mr Lin,

My brother and I have been having good luck using 3 cell LiPo's along with 350C gear boxes and ICS 300 speed controls. We've been flying them on Fanfold planes. (I haven't purchased a GWS warbird yet but I will be flying one this summer!) Two of them are 3D type planes and the other is more of a sport/combat type plane. The 3D planes seem to fly best with a 350C-D gearbox and 11x8 props, and the sport plane flys best with a 350C-C and 10x8 prop. We don't use full throttle very often, with the extra voltage from the LiPo's it's not needed, but it's nice to have when you want it. We also time our flights instead of using the LVC. With a 1200 mah pack there is still 10V left after 10 minutes of flight.

You can see some short videos of them in action on my video page http://benjamminsvideos.rchomepage.com/ Look for the ones at the bottom of the page with no thumbnails.

Oh I forgot to say there is over 1 hour flight time on the Skunk plane with no problems yet. Knock on wood!

A much better system is to use the 300H motor on 3cell Lipo, and then prop it for full throttle of ~8A. This gives great performance and a much longer life but still allows large props to be used.

Any ideas what are the physical difference between 300c and 300h since the H works better?

edit:

I found it:

the 300H is a bit milder than the 300c this would explain it.

GWS USA has stock of many older version Spitfire, Me109 which come with EPS-300C gear drive.

Those kits will be renamed to be 3LP high voltage version ( or good for 8+ cells ). You may ask your favorite LHS or on-line supplyer to book order for you.

So it would be best using the 300c than the milder 300H for 3S then??

wait, I thought if you ran 11.1 volt 3 cells it would burn out a 300, or even a 350? Im confused. I know that you can run a 400 on a 3 cell for at least 15+ flights but then it burns out, is there any way around this?

EPS300C version should be using a EP9050HD or EP8060 if consider to use 3 cells Lipo.

Reduce the prop load when add on the voltage.

The EM300H motor will be better to bear 3 cells Lipo. But EM350 motor is way to hot for 3 cells. Need to do some more test to find which gear ratio and prop loading can hold her last longer?
