RE: [RCSE] Frustrated Emerald owner

For those of you who had questions as to who I am, yes I am in a club. Been
in two actually. TMSS and SOAR. I am old enough to drive. I'm 44 and retired
from the military. I specialize in buisness technology and computer
networking. My military background is combat and intelligence photography.
I've been flying sailplanes for 10 years. The Emerald is my fourth plane. I
also have a Spirit 2M, Chrysalis and a six-servo Mystery Ship. My radio of
choice is the Stylus with glider card. The Emerald is my first molded plane,
so in that respect, I am a newbie. I'm also almost finished with my Level II
LSF. Just need contest points. Hope this answers most of the questions I
got.

Thanks to all who have already given me some ideas on how to put this plane
together. I already knew about the www.f3x.com web site. I think I've read
every article in there. I may have been misleading on my first post. I do
know what has to be done to get this bird in the air. I just need specifics
on the Emerald. But from the sounds of things, it's just trial and error. I
have a feeling this will be my first and last molded aircraft.

Wes,
Are you in a club? If so, contact a flyer in the club who has a sailplane
something like yours, and who has some experience with putting them all
together. Simple!! If not, it will be a trick for anyone to explain it for
you over this form. You really need a one on one type help, if as you say,
"I don't know what the hell, I'm doing". Are you old enough to drive? If
so, go to a city near you that has a club or someone near you who might
answer you on this forum. BTW where are you?

Re: [RCSE] Frustrated Emerald owner

Just think things through (particularly linkage geometry) before cutting
anything on the plane or mixing epoxy and it will be fine. The idea of
inspecting a well-set up identical plane is a good idea too.
