Seagull Models ERCOUPE HH will not carry? Seriously, no one wants one but me?

I just learned of this Ercoupe model coming out from Seagull models,
http://www.seagullmodels.com/ProductDetail.asp?id=139
so I emailed Horizon Hobby and was told by them they have
no plans to carry this model.
Does anyone else out here want them to carry it?

I checked with Chief Aircraft in Oregon; they said they didn't have any plans on carrying it either . Wouldn't mind having one. Price in England is 245 pounds= $395.00 plus shipping

That's surprising, If they don't want to carry it....

Profits are necessary to survive, and if they don't jump on something, you gotta ask why ?

98 " ,around 14 lbs, up to 40 cc...all good stuff..

Probably the minimum order they would have to make exceeds sales expectations.

I wouldn't mind having one either. Don't like the black cowl though. What's up with that? Sticks out like a sore thumb.

That snoot looks a little long, too..... like someone grabbed it and pulled on it!

Also, why do they always take out almost all the dihedral on the low-wing scalies? The full-scale Ercoupe has lots of dihedral, and it is one of the distinguishing characteristics that make this plane look "cute". Is taking it out supposed to make it fly better?

My Global Corby Starlet had a wing that was way too flat, too, so I put the dihedral back in there! Makes it look more sporty and certainly more scale, and hardly had any adverse effect on the way the Corby flies. Another example was the much-touted Black Horse T-28 Trojan. The Trojan needs at LEAST 6 or 7 degrees of dihedral to look scale, where the BH version was reduced to around one or two degrees at most. Yeah, we noticed!

"Sport" fliers don't know how to fly scale-like...- they want an Extra 300 S-, so the dihedral is gone, the nose is longer to help with balance, and the Cowl is black for unknown reasons..
The lack of dihedral helps roll rates be consistent ( the whiz bang fliers don't want to actually FLY, they want to WATCH ) !

You can buy paint in just about any colo.r,Fixing the cowl wouldn't stop me...It's probably a two piece wing, so new dihedral tongues shouldn't be a problem, either.,unless they;re using a wing tube, which limits their imagination.

And I'll bet the rudders are functional..although that WAS an option.

-I'll take one !

Things can change....someone else can pick it up, maybe..

'Talking' to some of these companies can result in changes..Over the years, I've seen them change their minds (both ways)..

How about BUILDING one ?

Ziroli, http://www.ziroliplans.com/zirolipla..._frameset.html and Tarvin Model Products, http://www.tarvinmodelproducts.com/p...l/ercoupe.html can provide you with plans, and some parts.

I've built and flown the TMP Ercoupe, and recommend it for anyone looking for an unusual model, that isn't often seen at the field.

I'm on the final stages of building the 81" Ziroli one now. Fabric wings with glassed balsa fuse covered in Flite-Metal.
I've converted to Electric using the Hacker A-60 16M motor.
I'll get pix up soon.

Years ago, I came across a set of Jim Messer 1/4 scale Ercoupe plans.
I was going to scratch build it.
Then last year I came across a Jim Messer 1/4 scale Ercoupe kit ( complete-minus the plans !)
Guess where that kit is today!!!!!

I also found a DARE Ercoupe kit at a great price, guess where it is today!~!~!~

Plus I have a full scale 1946 Ercoupe model CD and it's almost finished on a restoration!!!

Another one for the growing list of kits I would love to build!

I have often told my dad that if I got back into flying full scale, I would be interested in a Ercoupe. He, being a 177 owner, of course mocks me for the idea
