Helion Volition 10SC

1/10-scale 2WD electric ready-to-run short course truck

Splash

Helion Volition 10SC is a tough and fast RTR short course truck!

According to Helion, the all new Volition 10SC RTR 2WD electric short course truck can hit speeds over 30mph right out of the box…pretty impressive when compared to other short course trucks in its class. Speed was not the only goal that Helion was trying to achieve with the Volition 10SC, but also durability and those the two main features that most of us look for in an RTR. This short course truck is well equipped with a 2.4GHz radio system and all weather electronics so that wet conditions don’t stop the action. Creating the power to propel this 1/10-scale truck to the 30mph mark and over is a Metric 12-turn 550 size motor that is controlled by a Metric 30A speed control and is fed by an included 7-cell 3000mAh NiMH battery pack. Check out the rest of the features listed below.

The Volition is offered with an orange or green body.

Is this a Slash clone? 12 turn motor, 7 cell NiMh, sounds a lot like Traxxas. Judging by the vid it seems to run nicely, but I wonder what the lifespan of that 12T motor will be...

I would not go so far as to calling it a Slash Clone based on the motor and battery pack since they are not exactly uncommon for a vehicle like this.

Same class of vehicle yes. Clone would imply parts interchangeability and they are not even close. Slash 2wd is a high COG, this is low COG.

I wonder about the life of the 12 turn as well. They are saying 30 mph out of the box and to do that I'm betting it has to be geared quite high. That is not a recipe for long motor life and durability.

Ah, then it must be my relatively little experience with SCT, as far as I knew only Traxxas still sticks to using those 7 cell NiMh packs. Still the chassis design reminds me of another car I've seen before, but I can't put my finger on it. And maybe my mind just plays tricks with me.

Anyway, that was just my first thought.

It does have a passing resemblance to the Associated SC10. But as most 2wd low COG's do look very similar, that's not much of a surprise.

I would say the chassis has a resemblance of a Duratrax Evader. But thats just me. Cool looking car nonetheless! I just don't know how good Helion quality is.
