Helpful Questions about cdrom motors for dummies (me)
Here's some assumtions and questions that hopely will help and clarify technically challenged cdrom motor builders like myself
and all in one place for minimal searching......
Assuming the same guage, amounts of turns and stator diameter
1.) Delta winding = higher rpm's, higher current, lower torc
2.) Star windinger = lower rpm's, lower current, higher torc
3.) Parallel winding = ? rpm's, ? current
4.) More turns = lower curent , ? rpm's, ?torc, ? more less volts required
5.) N-S-N-S... etc magnets = less rpm's ? less current ? lower torc
6.) NN-SS-NN... etc magnets = more rpm's ? more current ?higher torc
7.) Stator pole #'s 3,6,9,12 = ? advantages
7a.) stator size and thickness = ? advantages
8.) Magnet strength = ? advantages
A.) optimal setup forducted fan unit
B.) optimal setup for gearbox
C.) optimal setup for direct drive
*Also how to figure # of turns, guage wire and # of volts applied for effiency with little wasted power going into just creating heat.
Having all these questions answered in one thread sure would be helpful for dummies like me.
