Sexy little pusher F-14 Tomcat build..

Here is my little Tomcat, thought it might interest some of you guys-
scaled down from my twin EDF version, this model will have a MEGA 16/15/4 buried in the rear fuse, with an extension shaft running beyond the rear 'beaver' tail, so just the 6x4 prop will show.

With the advent of decent Lipo's I can use a pack of 3s Tanic 2600's to power the motor, should give about 10 mins WOT, but flying with throttle management, should get 10-15 minutes easy.

I was using CP 1300's (10) to power my Mega, but with the Lipo's I can pretty much cut the weight in half.

I'm going to use swing wings, power from a standard Futaba S3001 servo, with a servo slow device attached to it.

Will be very light, and easy to chuck with the wings in full extension mode, then of course, full throttle, wings back fot those tower buzzing passes!
Much simpler than the EDF version, as no ducting is needed,it's coming along well.

Matt.

Hi Steve, no worries on the Do.335 at the mo.I just spent the last of my PayPal cash on Tanic cells! I had no other means of transferring the money anyway, maybe later..

Done some more on the little 'Cat, more pics later today.

It is approx 32" long, swept span approx. 23"
I'm going to glass the entire frame when built.

Matt.

Matt-

That rocks.. Would there be any way to get a set of laser cut parts once the plans are setup?? Maybe not a set of kit parts from you, but with your permission, from one of the laser cutters here in the USA?

I would love to have the EDF model, but I am not sure if my wallet can take that.

Thanks guys- I'm looking into the possibilty of laser part kits, I just need to build this first to iron out any wrinkles so to speak.

Yes, it's a cheap alternative to the EDF version, a lot simpler to set up too, so given some time, cut parts kits will be a reality.
