Stopped by the Balsa Products booth at WRAM show and spotted some new (at least to me) micro servos. The smallest was 4.7 g with 11 oz.in of torque and the larger was 5.2 g with 15 oz.in of torque. I just had to have a couple. Labeled as EHobby servos they are physically smaller than other similar servos. The pic shows a 5.2 g EHobby, a 6 g Blue Bird and a 9 g JR 241 micro. The EHobby's measure 0.32" thick, 0.82" long, and 0.69" tall. Seem to work quite smoothly....

Anyone with any experience with them??

The EHobby 5.2g servo on the far left looks like it's the same servo as the Saturn 54 we have over here. I believe it is also rebranded by Cirrus over there in the US.

They also do a 4.9 which matches the smaller one you mention. The weight difference is accountable by the fact that no one weighs the servos in a usable form. GWS are the worst as they leave out both the servo arm and the lead in their quoted weights.

The 2 Cirrus 4.4 s I've weighed were 4.4 g out of the package. Including the output arm, screw, and wire tie used to hold the servo wire neatly in place. 4.3 g w/o the wire tie.

And thanks! I believe you're correct. I looked at the Cirrus 5.4 on Hobby People's site and it certainly looks physically identical. I hadn't seen the Cirrus before and was impressed by the small footprint of the EHobby ones. There was a positive review of the Cirrus in RCMF a while back. I've just weighed an EHobby one and it weighs 5.6 g with wire and connector - the same weight Hobby People give for the Cirrus 5.4 with wire and connector. Anyway, they are 'cute' little servos.

I've used the cirrus 5.4 and 4.4... the 5.4's seem good, the 4.4's are a little rough it seems.. still, nothing like gws pico's, which are very smooth in comparison..

The 5.4s are sold as Cirrus CS 5.4s and also FMA PS-20s.

I have two of the Cirrus 4.4s in my Stevens Aero DiddleBug and they do seem a little rough - or at least they're noisy. But with 15+ claimed oz-in of torque and as fast as they are, I'm not surprised. I have 5.4s in a couple of planes (and another on the workbench will get a pair). I like them alot.

Haven't seen the 4.9s in person yet....
