Graduating from LiteStik.......which plane?
My brother is upgrading from his litestik (it will be a Christmas present from me).....
He can keep the stik up, land, take off, handle some wind without incedent. He is ready.
I need ideas on the next plane that he should be ready for.
I have the hawk.....much to fast.
I also have the duskstik.....to much like the 'stik for his application.
I settled on "MeatStik" home-brews for my next step and was very happy...unfortunately he really needs a store-model.
His main requirement is a plane that can handle wind better than the 'stik, more speed (2x or so?), and is of course forgiving. Cosmetics are nice, but not on top of the list.
Flying-wing type planes.....ack.
Maybe a sp300 geared? Or even a 400?

I would reccomend the Electric Mite. It will handle up to 5mph easilly with an intermediate pilot and 7-10 with an experienced pilot. It flies around 2x as fast as the litestik at full speed but slows down to a nice glide 'dead stick' or at minimal throttle.
It has a full fuse, so doesn't suffer from the 'still a stik' problem you're concerned about. Best thing is he should be able to use the servos, receiver and possibly the ESC from his litestik in it. If he doesn't mind canibilizing his GWS-A drive he can even use the motor from it direct-drive instead of buying a new IPS direct drive set.
