Thanks for the positive feedback, guys.

SAslinky, it's nice to see another TD .010 plane. Not many people fly them these days. I'm lucky enough to have 4 of these tiny engines. Two runners and two new-in-box that are put away for future use. They are shared by 3 planes.

Just finished a little refurbishing/improvement work on my Cox TD .010-powered El Pongito. New colors and improved flying manners.

Looks good, but even with my 21y/o eyes I'd probably still loose that one!

You just have to keep 'em turning. Close in and low all the time. It's really not difficult if you're used to flying rc and the small tank only runs for about 1.5 minutes so you don't have to hold on very long. A local said it sounds like The Great Thunder Mosquito.

Yeah, thats what my mates say about mu .09 and .049's, like a mad hornet or mosquito, lol.

I've had black airplanes and they are the EASYEST to SEE, but the hardest to keep oriented for sure, no matter the conditions or background. But it looks good!

A couple half A's

I built the yellow and blue plane around 1979. The little black plane about 1986.

Nice. I love the front end on the second plane. Looks fast standing still.

Yes they look very fast. I get so board flying the Q500's, but I think I could have fun with these!

Got any plans, spex or even one left for sale!?

No, sorry. I probably have the rib templates somewhere.... If I run across them and you want them I'll send them to you.
Back in those days, I designed fuselages by laying all the equipment (Rx, battery, servos, tank) on a piece of balsa, then guessing at the CG (for wing location) and making the profile of the fuselage just big enough to clear the components. I often made aluminum templates for all major parts, but never drew any plans. I guessed wrong on the little black plane. That tail skid is 1/8" thick STEEL to cure a nose - heavy condition. I really liked that plane. It was very quick, turned hard, and held a line beautifully.

Thanks. The picture was taken before it ever flew. The spinner lasted about 3 second from engine start. I guess it wasn't intended for a T.D. D'oh!

Built this one several years ago. It's a Norvel Tutor, bashed a bit into a faux "L-Bird." Powered by a Norvel .061 with a Davis Diesel head. Flew great, but was a victim of its color... Don't fly green planes against green backgrounds! It's repairable, though.
