Blade Nano Qx led headlight Mod

I just added a headlight to my QX. Used a white surface mount led from a 3520 size led strip light. It is powered off the flight battery.
There are 2 solder point on the FC board as shown in the pictures. The red wire from the board goes to the positive lead on the led. Blue wire is negative is soldered to the negative point on the led. I didn't use a resistor at all. I trimmed the led strip with scissors to make it smaller. The led strip has adhesive backing to stick the led to the front beam.

The red positive solder point is on the very edge corner of the board. The blue negative point is right next to the negative battery lead.

I used insulated thin magnet wire to make the connections.

Makes a nice bright headlight and very little weight.

I am just using one led from a set of led strip lights. You can use any surface mount led to do this and just glue it on the beam. The headlight is really bright without a resistor. You can add a smd resistor around 150 ohm to make it not so bright.

Nice, thanks for that. Why those two points, vs the battery connection points?

Thanks for posting this. It helped me get rid of extra connectors and wire in the sf designs kit, which got me about 30 seconds more flight time. I'm guessing resistance more than weight, but not sure.

Why not the battery connection points? It's covered in a glob of goo.
