XRP 14 Blade 70mm Fan Unit

Just saw this released on the X-Flight web site - I wonder how this will compare with the 10 and 12 blade 70mm units?

I was just thinking about getting a 12-blade one for the Vampire. Now I've ordered both the 12-blade and 14-blade ones. I wonder where the limit is - will we be seeing 20-blade 70mm fans before too long?

I would say the limit is under 10.

I bet the efficiency is down form the 10 blade which sounds good enough to me. For applications where a person wants a scale looking fan like an airliner or an A-10...this would be great! Those type of planes can take the efficiency hit. This would look so good on those Wingrider B737s.

efficiency down, wooooshhhh up. what people will buy! lol am I reading that correctly? $16 bucks for a fan?

Static Thrust: 1250g ( 2lbs ) 48A the efficiency would exponentially decrease after this mid range peak number. just my hunch..

...we will see. The 12 blade was not too bad from what people said...so maybe the 14 blade will just be another bump down. I mostly worry about the shaft adapter quality with these fans. I guess there are aftermarket adapters that will probably work with this rotor as it looks similiar to the 10 and 12 blade rotor adapter style.

...of course you only see the rotor when the plane is static...so i guess it is not really worth losing the performance for me. i think i will wait for the other high-blade count 70mm fan coming out soon.

4.5lbs thrust peak > 4lbs of settled ~ 1100 watts 30usd shipped for the 10 blade and an L2855 2300kv ... worth waiting on ..The 12 blade 70mm settled numbers are even better

Turnigy L2855-2300kv - 5S - CS 10 Blade Test (2 min 11 sec)

Some CP motors Proper ducting brings out the performance, plenty of vids to attest to

No need to pay 2 - 3 times more for 1 to 2% increase in performance with the 10 and 12 blades and proper ducting

The shaft adapters on the v3s balance out of the box, 3 - 4 clock turns

What one gets with the 2 - 3 times more in cost with some rotors is the increase in max RPMs and therefore increase eflux and some others attributes

We'll see, they've had a miss before...mostly hits

Is the rotor as rigid as the CS fans?. So they are somewhat balanced? What about the collets, are the made "true".
