Everywhere? I doubt it. I bet you don't know about 5% of the vendors that sell brushless motors. Check the sponsors page.

One issue may be the recent run on old-stock European brushless motors before the price increase.

Early February in upstate NY, and I can smell spring coming. Sure, we'll get some more snow between now and then, and the wind will kick up, but what I consider the "real winter" is over with. From now on, we'll get at least one day a week over 32F, or at least no more than 10 days between such days. It's almost time to start tapping trees for maple syrup season.

The fluctuation in the dollar vs other world currencies has a lot to do with it. Buy now at higher price eat the difference when the dollar strenghtens. Dealers aren't willing to do this.

Many dealers bought stock for a while ago benefiting from a decent Euro/USD exchange rate, now stock is dry and the dealers are reluctant to restock due to the price increase.

Exatly 2 years ago you could buy a Euro for $0.87, now today it cost $1.25. Thats 44% increase over this time. Bad for import, good for domestic brands.

i have 6 at my house But the point is true...the dollar is really helping the sales of these things. Now the Aussie dollar is 0.78us instead of .49us I can now get a combo for less that $160 AUD.

It's not that the brushless motors are all gone, just all the ones I want. I've been looking for an axi 2212/26 or an astro 010 10T or an rz350--none, nada, zip. Checked with everyone on the vendor list. There are, however, plenty of brushless motors I DON'T want available. Murphy's law--corollary of supply and demand.

Matt hit the nail on the head. Plenty of motors out there, just the high-demand ones that are scarce. What you have to do is find one of the less fashionable motors that meets your needs and buy it. Like the Astro 010 14T. Very good motor for small planes, seems to be readily available, but everyone wants an AXI 2212 or Razor.

I like the himaxx's now. Much more supply and cheaper than the razors (albeit heavier). They probably haven't been around long enough to get a true appreciation of their quality. So far so good though
