While I don't know specifically about the Yak55, perhaps this PDF might help. Also, my dad just got one of there sport planes, and can't stop raving about it (thankful I live far away! - LOL)

thanks for the link to review kiwibob72. for the most part I think seagull produces some good aircraft, however I did finally find a review on the yak55m and it sounded like they failed miserably on this one. I still find it odd not to find any video good or bad. I am looking for something that will be a good match for a dle30.

What about Pilot Rc's 73" Yak54? .... or Aeroworks 72" version, they are a little bigger than the Seagull Yak55, and should be great options for that DLE30 you mentioned.

Just curious: what were the failures in the review you saw? Is there a link?

Thanks

actually one of the only reviews I could find was on horizon hobby's own website. look up yak 55m or sea 131 which by the way is no longer available. sounds like big problems with balance when you need 3 pounds of lead while using dle 30. that sounds like more than bad building skills.

finally chose seagull's MXS-R .90-1.20 size. not much else available for yaks locally in30cc size and don't like to pay the big bucks for shipping. already have greatplanes 50cc size yak55m and a 43" EPP yak. love the yak's.

I'd be keen to hear what you have to say about that plane as you show us all how she goes together and maidens with your upcoming build thread (hint hint)
The magazines can not always be relied on to be 100% on the money I feel.
