Yippee!
Please post your links to free plans HERE!

Hello all,

How about getting a list going here of all the free plans that are available out there? There are so many threads it's getting very hard to find just the plans any more! I think a nice CLEAN list (try to keep on this subject only) would help a lot of us trying to decide on the next plane to build!

Please list:

1) Name of the plane
2) Photo of a finished plane - or a drawing even!
3) Name of the creator (gotta give proper credit!)
4) Specifications: Wingspan, length, weight etc.
5) Recommended set-up (motor/gearbox/prop, batteries, ESC, servos etc)
6) Flight charactaristics or what makes the plane different or unique - might include what kind of pilots would like this particular plane.

AND MOST IMPORTANTLY:

7) The Link to the site or email contact to download plans.

Thanks all... and the way this 3D foamie thing is going this could turn into a long list!

Thanks!

CJS

Plane: Mini Vortex 3D for IPS motor

Creator: Derek

Wingspan: 28"
Length: 27"
Wing Area: 196 sq in
Wing Loading: 3.7 oz/sq ft
AUW: 5.0 oz
Motor: GWS IPS "C" gear (I replaced the motor with EDF50 motor, which I think you get this in the LPS system)
Prop: 11X4.7
Battery: 3s1p 340 Kokam High Capacity
Servos: 3 Pico
Rx: GWS R4P or Hitec Feather
ESC: 5 Amp

A Mini version of the 39" Vortex kit, but I made quite a few mods to the wing plan, wing location, aileron size, elevator style, etc.

Plans will be available for free download from his website http://www.flatfoam.com just as soon as testing is complete. I'm only asking for people to PM me now for preliminary plans for the more experienced builders.

So... if you want the plans now me "DerekB" a PM or wait for the final vesion at FlatFoam.

Yak

Here is a depron yak design I have been working on. I loosly based it on a three view I found on the net. It is intended to fly with a EPS-300 or brushless equiv. I am in the process of cutting my first one with a CNC waterjet so no flight report yet.

the ever popular 3DX

The 3DX is based on my 3Demon design (I'm changing the name because I don't really like 3Demon). The original 3Demon turned out OK, but wasn't quite as smooth as I wanted. I'm incorporating some of the changes in the Fan Fold design, then if all goes well, I'll do a bigger, built-up version too.

The first 3DX will be powered by a GWS EPS300-C "D" gearing, 12x8 prop, 8 cell 720NiMh. I just fried my SECOND 370 motor yesterday (don't ask...) so I'll have to wait till my replacement motor gets here to fly. Hopefully everything will be done and all I'll have to do is drop in the motor. If all else fails I have a "C" gearbox and motor.

I have a Hacker B20-15L 4:1 that I want to use too. So far I haven't been able to figure out a dual mounting system for both motor systems to be used in the same plane. If you guys have any ideas on that, let me know.

Never fear, the Ultimate will get the Hacker on 6 KAN 950s and a 11x4.7 APC SF prop. Mounting the Hacker is going to be a head scratcher too. I have a few ideas, so we'll see.

I have cut out all of the parts for the 3DX and started building it. I still need to draw a bit more on the Ultimate before I start making the templates. I expect I'll work on the plans a bit more tonight and get the parts cut out too.

Here is a pic of the 3DX so far.

From RCAV8R13-
Mini Vertigo Pro plans [ 1 ]

If you like the ShockFlyer but can't find one, then try my Mini Vertigo Pro. It flies just like a ShockFlyer. It knife edges and flat turns realy well. It does everything else too, tumbles, harrier rolls, tourque rolls, hovering etc.
Check it out.
