The plane looks great, Andre! Out of curiosity, can you tell me who built it and what did it cost to do? I'm looking into this myself...no time. If you prefer to respond privately, my address is scot@hawaii.rr.com

Andre,
I bought 50 2400 cells and have built 3 packs so far (will probably build two more 10 cell packs but we will see). Is the runtime significantly lower with the 1700 packs or is it worth it with the lower weight? How much less is the weight of the packs? Since I am flying at 7000 feet I am going to need to experiment with props/gears but if I could also lose a few ounces that would help. I am going to try the stock setup first but I doubt it will hover without changing gearing and or props. Thanks, Kenny |

whoa!,.. a 14X10 is WAY too much for the 4.6 ratio and 10 cells. I doubt the comm will last more than 30 seconds. 12X8 APC "E" or 13X7.5 sonictronics folder on 10 cells at the 4.6 ratio. I occasionally (too often actually) use a 14X7 just to be more impressive in vertical from hover,.. but that gives me overtemp shuttoffs on the controller after a few minutes unless I let it cool in standard flight.

you'd be surprised - once you get over the fear factor- how much abuse a motor can take ( 16 cells on a 015 Astro, 20 cells on jeti 45/3 , 10 cells on a speed 300 etc). I think I will try 12 cells with a 13x 5. The Motor is 18.50$... tower has a 2 for 37$ deal. The handling with CP1700 cells is just so much better on the Diablotin Super E -- the "lost" weight and fun in handling outweighs the minimal loss of run time. ( 20 x CP 1700, Jeti 45/3 DD 12x8)I expect the same effect on the E3D. Andre |

I understand what you're saying,.. and I've ran the endo's at just over 500 watts (53 amps on 10 cells) on the front of a glider, without a problem,.. but that's for very very short bursts of power. As far as more cells are concerned,.. the armature isn't tied or wedged,.. and I can tell you they don't run well after 12 cells are put on them and the arm looses a winding
. Of course being as stubborn as I am,.. I had to do that a few times to make sure it was too many cells. Since it sounds like you're as adventurous as I am,.. let me know how you get along with it.

Andreas,
I, too, need to get someone else to build if I ever get a kit done...I have been 4 months just working on an already-built wing, to get a model back into the air ![]() So - would you mind emailing me privately your builder, if you want to share him/her? tmcgill@equitygroup.com Thanks - Terry |

Well, in for a penny. Just ordered 20 CP1700s from Hills - at $3.00 a pop and not having to diddle around giving my inside seam to EBay, just too good to be true. If I was flying much, would probably have gotten another 20 to lighten up the CAP too.
"All" that remains of my E3D now is to build the wing - still. My builder is real slow right now, and is looking after a convalescent wife. Still, his price is right ![]() If I don't get along with Mayhems, its either a MaxCim 13D or some kind of Astro FAI - 05 or 15 - with a Superbox. |

The only reason Hills is selling them for $3 each, is that TNR is selling them for that much on Ebay. They are a paid advertiser here also so I dont know what you mean by too good to be true. I got some many times off Ebay from Wayne, only $6 shipping also, plus they take pay-pal. Ebay does not make any profit at all off of the buyer, if thats what your referring to. |

no Mayhem ( we have had enough of that) -- Genetic Material -- Endoplasma is the word. I will try the stock set-up first, if that won't work as I want-- the F16 will pull it straight up no matter what. Very curious what Gary put together here, something tells me that on 10 x CP1700 this ship should do just fine - stock! ### Good deal on the cells! Have a Rambler 45 ( big, light, sport arf by World Models , 63 inches, amost 700 sq) is run on a Maxcim D geared on 20 cells-- ALL SMILES, guaranteed! I myself share your opinion about Ebay. You get good deals, but be prepared to sell your data to big brother. Andre |
