GWS Tiger Moth World Tour

We are building a brand new Tiger Moth and starting a world tour of the Moth. We are looking for pilots in all 50 states to give the Tiger Moth a 5 - 10 minute flight, take in-flight photos, and then autographing the Moth with EZONE username, date, and zip code. Then you would ship to the next pilot.

The idea was the brainstorm of Crashin J., The Trip Coordinator is 1987tc, and aircraft, TX, radio gear are sponsored by thonobuc. The batteries and charger are donated by Tahoecrest. Decals were arranged for by Crashin J.

The Selection Committee members are daveWCO, 1987tc, and Cam Galbraith.

We hope to place this Moth in the AMA Museum. This would be covered by Wes in a following post. We are also have the progress updated on a Website.

Pilots would be required to ship the Moth to the next recipient at their own expense. If you break it, you would repair it within our guidelines. Parts failures such as motor, ets., have logistics already planned for. We supply the Tiger Moth and all accessories required to fly her.

We hope to kick this off about March 1, 2004.

We sincerely hope that the pilots will not hotdog the Moth or perform aerobatics with it. Just treat her like the gentle lady that she is. This is NOT a beta aircraft. Requirements are part of the registration form.

We have a committee to select the pilots for this endeavor. If you would like to be considered as a pilot for this project, please complete the registration form here: http://thonotosassafla.com/RC/tm_tour.htm . Requests via email, pm's, or posting request here will not be considered.

The Moth and TX should be here Friday or Saturday hopefully. Then Luis and I will start her construction. We will post her construction here. Also pilots will post photos and flight reports.

I will be contacting the AMA HQ on Monday to make sure they will want it in the AMA museum should the Tigermoth make it back intact.

I will also be contacting the AMA VP for my area to let him know what we are doing.

I would suggest that as each pilot is confirmed that if he wishes to he contact HIS ( or her) area VP and local club. You might want to also want to take it to a club meeting if one is being held during the time the model is in your possesion.
Looking forward with all of you on this project!

good deal.
I feel like the more ways AMA hears about this the better!
I would like for it to end up in the magazine as well as the museum.

when this is all up and running for some time, it would make a great article for the hobby mags. I would'nt mind submitting an article to Q&EFI over here.

If you want no crashes better stay away from me.

Three have registered so far that I know of, reills, Athulas and Cloak have.

I just got a registration from "Cam Galbraith..." I don't know if I should verify him, he looks a lil shady!!!

Cool idea, I hope the Florida flight will take place at Seminole Crash Fest AKA Osceola Middle.

Let me know if you need any help with the AMA as I know someone who works there.
