Stinson Reliant 1/6 Scale Cleveland Kit

A 1/6 Scale Stinson Reliant Gull Wing SR-7 82 1/2" wing Span, Wing Chord 15 1/2" at the widest point, Stabilizer Span 27"
This is a real "Builders" kit. The wing ribs are constructed in a fashion similar to that of full scale practice.

From the Box:
Quick Facts:
GIGANTIC GAS MODEL
The finest design developed so far for radio control operation.
Construction closely follows full size aircraft practice.
May be flown with any class motor-A-"B"-"C".
Has been successfully flown with an Atom motor at slow speed-its large wing area plus light construction made this possible.
Kit contains famous C-D "Flight Engineered" full sized plans-super detailed to assure easy, authentic construction.
Many parts are pre-fabricated.
Principles of construction and flight are readily learned through building and flying a gas model so large.
May be flown free night, tether (control line) or radio controlled.
Will carry a heavy load-has already flown with loads over five pounds, carrying radio equipment, cameras, etc.
Kit does no contain liquids or power unit.
The most famous of all radio control models, but is known best for its very realistic "free" flights as it looks and flys just like the real plane.
“This kit may be as much as 54 years old. I have had it for over 35 years myself. The plans are yellowed and there are some tears and rough edges. The kit is complete and the wood is in as produced condition. The wire landing gear does have some very light surface rust.”
$300 plus shipping.

I have this same kit!
Stold it! Not really, but got a great deal on it!
I am going to make scratch built exact copy of it!
I also have two extra sets of plans for it!

I may try something extraordinary.
I have the entire Tekoa feather cut system and all the accessories.
Make this airplane entirely out of foam! I have Ken Sparks latest edition of "Building With Foam" as a guide!

It's built just like the real one!
I had extra copies of the plans made to work with.
I would not even cut those die cut parts out with a exacto knife, but a high quality jig saw like the heavy duty one I have. ( Craftsman)
Actually your best bet is to send the plans to a kit cutter like National Balsa and have a laser cut kit made!
This is one of my considerations also. Put the kit aside ,it will only grow in value!

My plans are to make a jig for the wing ribs so if I build another one they will be exact.
Yes it is some work, but then again, it's like building the full scale.

I am thinking of having National Balsa cut me Lockheed Sirius , and perhaps have them cut a copy of this kit.
The sticks I can cut on my modified band saw
Mine has a special made attachment called "The Little Ripper" ( made in Canada by a specialty woodworking firm)
I can cut any kind of wood to any dimensions I need.
A real money saver!

The wheel pants , cowling , etc, I would make exact copies and make molds and make them out of epoxy glass.
It would be interesting to find out if anyone could make a "dummy radial engine " for it on a 3D printer!

This kit was released by Cleveland Model Supply in 1959.

PROPJET,
I had two extra copies made by Hemikiller here on RCG
He may have files for it.
They were about 15 or 20 bucks per each copy as there is several plans sheets on this model.

I think I have one of these nearly completed, but I do not have any information on it, could I purchase a set of plans from you?
