Have you seen Peter Jensen at your slope or flying site???

Peter Jensen is a budding Photog and a great pilot that I had the pleasure of meeting in 2002 via the internet. He has made his rounds ever since, and has developed a good eye for photography. Has he been to your slope? It is very likely that he has...just check the archives and chime in if you know him.

His site of photo archives.

I know the NCFM guys know him as well as others, chime up if you do.

James

Peter, you shoot great pics!!! Here is tribute!

Hey Thanks, Admiral Red ;-)

Last night when I asked if anybody wanted to start this thread, I had no idea someone would actually go and do it! This is great -- a nice story to tell. Peter Jensen -- the "Where's Waldo" of RC flying.

I met Pete and his buddy John maybe a year ago -- maybe 2, when he was working up here in NorCal as an intern, during summer break from his university studies in Atlanta, GA.

We first met at Sunset State Beach in Watsonville, CA. Pete was flying (I think a Texas Twister) DLG plane and also maybe a Zagi or some other wing. John was flying some sort of built-up poly glider. I remember Pete was a great conversationlist and knew a lot about planes. I was telling Pete that we were heading for our first ever trip to Parker Mountain -- Mecca of Slope Soaring. I think Pete had told me that he had just returned from Parker.

What was so funny was that the very next weekend I was flying at Pacifica, CA (about 40 miles to the North) and guess who showed up -- Pete and John.

THEN, my buddy and I left Pacifica and ventured up to Fort Funston in Daly City, CA. About thirty minutes later Pete and John showed up. What a riot!

As a matter of fact, I think I even saw Pete during that same summer at Coyote Hills Regional Park.

The sad thing is that I think Pete's been to busy with studies, life, (and maybe girls too) to come out and slope here in NorCal again.

Whenever Pete decides to come to NorCal, he's more than welcome. Hope he brings his camera along, though - it would be nice to see some NorCal photos in his vast galleries

Thanks again, Admiral Red, for starting this thread.

Happy Flying ;-)

Nice collection of pics, both soaring and trips.
I especially like the picture of 2 moths near collision.
Check out the Carlsbad folder.

Also, Glen Rose TX slope soaring site:

Also, I'll be back in Austin starting about May 16 until I get off my rear and accept one of the offers I have or find another one. Need a good guy with CS degrees and engineering experience? I'll be up for some DLG and electric flying.

Not So Fast Bryn...

Don't kill this thread just yet - it's just getting interesting

HEY PETE - Why not come back out to NorCal for a visit. We miss you out here. Also, we'd like to see some NorCal photos, so I think you need to bring your camera with you ;-)

BTW Pete, I'm particularly interested in this Web page...
http://www.diff.net/media/2004_04_18...n_NASA_flying/
...It appears to me that that little HLG being aerotowed by that park flyer is none other than the Dave's Aircraft Works Dragonette MHLG. When I met you I had one of those. It's since been retired and I've built a scaled-up scratch version of it I call the "D-40". I'm really jazzed to see that some flyers are aerotowing their Dragonettes -- really cool!

Happy Flying ;-)
