Finally got a transmitter with more channels.

Tried it out on my tricopter will try the 650 next and hope to control the gimbal
tilt with it.

The build list looks ok.

11x5.5 props will work but you might want to look at 12x5 or larger for extended flight times.

I received my gemfan 1147 props the other week.... comparing them to the 1245 props can't see how the 12's push more air especially since they're much more flexible... i prefer the 11's over the 12's now.... roughly the same flight times as well.

Here is my fleet.....

Working great got the timers setup to only start counting down after the throttle goes above 10%,for the price its amazing.

Still havent hooked it up to the gimbals yet, weathers been too bad here to fly.

Nice fleet you have there.

Interesting that your 11" props are giving you the same flight time.

I will have to try those 13x4.5 turnigy wooden props i bought.

As a side project because the weather sucks im building a mini H quad with some carbon fiber tubes and
some plywood.

Just built up my 650 today. I notice that my motors don't line up with the holes on the carbon plates. At best I'll only get 2 out of 4 screws in for each motor. They are turnigy rebadged pro flight uk 1100kv 2830/11 motors. There are 8 holes on the motor plates but not much room left to drill any more holes, not sure at the stage what to do. Didn't really want to change my motors at this point, are there any adapters/mounts you can buy?

Thanks

Raymond

Hi Paul, i'll have a closer look tonight and see if i can get them to fit. I wouldnt have thought 2 screws would have been secure enough, but i could always threadlock them and regularly check before flying.

Cheers
Raymond

I have couple questions about the fy650. We are planning on building a multi to carry a Sony nex and a brushless gimbal. The motors we are using will be rctimer 5010 360kv with either 15" or 16" props. We will use 2* 4s 5000mah in parallel and the total weight of everything (if using a fy810 hexa) would be over 4.5kg.

The motors are super efficient (+10g/W) when lifting less 600grams. So here is what we are planning on doing.

Use fy650 and make it into a x8 (motors on the bottom and on the top of the arms). Would this frame be able to handle about 4kg weight or should we get fy690s and convert it into a quad and then into a x8?
I've seen couple people using this frame as x8 on youtube but very hard to find info. So how easy would converting this into x8 be?

Hey Paul happy holidays... been -12C here for the last few weeks.... sucks large.

Yeah.... i've seen a few new 650 build threads... they seem rather doofus to me tho.... extreme low kv motors and big props on an x-frame is just problematic when it comes to props in view imo.

Someone needs to make a 650 H-frame.... then that would interest me.

Naza... have a pair myself and oh the horror stories... well i've logged many hours without a problem using 5.8/2.4 and 1.3/433 gear.

Naza is great for fly'n via the gimbal camera tho... tilt panning whilst flying is awesome.
