I have a pile of them (more than 30) and they have worked very well for me.

They are very easy to bind, no problems at all.

I use the Orange Tx and Rx together on my homebuild and planes that I build from flite test and for these plans they are a great value and work fine.

I have six of these in various planes along with a Spektrum Dx6i radio. Never had a problem binding or operating the Orange receiver over a period of 2+ years. .

Yesterday I speced out a Slow Stick with the 4 channel version that only has the one little antenna.

Took about 10 minuets to climb to altitude but was way the heck up there above other gliders that were so high they looked small.

Not bad for $4.00 RX!

I haven't needed a receiver in a while, so I hadn't noticed that this had replaced the R610, which is no longer available.

I have six of the R610 receivers in service, all with the R100 remote receiver. I've never had the slightest bit of trouble with them, and my FBs who are using the R610s swear by them, as well.

Does the R615 now make the use of a remote receiver superfluous? When they say it "utilizes dual antennae to offer true signal reception diversity! This results in an even more robust signal link than the original R610, while providing the same quality, range and value", is that what they're talking about? Is that why there's no port for the R100? The R100 is still available. What are we supposed to use it with? Old R610s?

This is a puzzling development.

Yes! puzzling indeed! I also have a few R610's combined with R100's. but like I said in a earlier post, I ordered one of the R615's using it in a parkflyer with no issues so far! seems to be the same quality, only 2 little antennas and no sat port?

I didn't look hard enough. The R620 and R720 have sat ports.

Looks like any new RX setups I get will be R620/R100 combinations.

I have three of the Orange R615's in my 650mm Warbirds, all bound to a DX7. I've never, ever had a glitch. I also have an Eflight Zero 300 BNF Basic with the Spectrum Nanolite AR6310 receiver preinstalled, and I have had a couple of brown-outs with it. It has never caused a crash, but there have been some pucker moments.

When I range check the R615, and can get out nearly 60 paces before I lose contact. I can also fly much further than I could see the planes, never had a problem.

I'm sold on the Orange R615's...
