Beanie, what prop and gear ratio were you using with the 350c?.. did it have enough power to climb vertical?

Mine at 12.8oz with 3 lipos and the 350c 5.33 gearbox and gws 9*7 has unlimited vertical.

hi hermperez,
i am using the stock 350C (5.33:1) with a 10x8 prop on 8cell kans. AUW is 19.9oz. i dunno about unlimited vertical because my piloting skills basically suck. but she doesn't feel underpowered. she seems to move a lot faster than a friend of mine who is running completely stock on balsapr 700mah 8cell battery.

Can anyone tell me where you are getting this fiberglass cloth, and what it is called (brand name?).

What types are good for E-RC and which should I avoid?

Thank You very much

Brett

Im about to glass a formosa. Im using hangar 9 .5oz cloth. Here is the part # HAN3620. Check with your LHS to order or if you dont have a shop, just order direct from horizonhobby.com. I also just picked up a SMALL jug of minwax at home depot for 4.00 and also a large spray can (cool) of the same thing for 8.00. Dunno which one works better but I will find out. also, if it matters, the guy at home depot said to use a foam brush instead of bristled. Ill find out if he's correct. The minwax jug says to use bristled so who knows.

btw, the cloth retails for $5.99 for 1 sq. yard.

Maybe a dumb question, but that never stopped me before...
Anybody ever glass a Slowstick wing? Worth it? Ive beaten the heck out of mine, and a little rigidity wouldnt hurt either.

I finally got around to finishing up my glassing of the 109. I estimate my total flying weight when I am finished at 18oz.

Can't wait to tackle my chosen camo scheme!

a good place to get .5oz glass it cstsales.com

I got 2 yrds for $5 at their booth at hobby visions in vegas a couple months back... i've glassed quite a bit of my last two mustangs and still have a lot left. I only glass the center of the wing, wing saddles, and under the nose and aft belly.

If the .5oz glass at cstsales is a little expensive give them a phone call and they'll work a deal with you on some 'left overs' from other larger orders that they have laying around.

Right now the pix don't really reveal much. The model looks exactly like it did before I put fiberglass cloth on in pictures.

Ok I have the base colors on the plane. I have not done the crackle paint camo scheme but that is next. Then, panel lines and weathering.

Target Scheme: Rohwer of JG3

Flying weight is 16.6 ounces. The 2200 3S tanic pack fits in the battery tray of this 109 perfectly. I had to sand the outside walls of the battery tray to remove 1mm from each side to fit the tanic packs width. I also trimmed a few mm of the fill styrofoam over the top of the battery tray to fit the batteries height.

With the tanic 3S 2200 and the Razor 2500 out front, the plane balances at 56mm from the leading edge. The plane balances spot on with the Tanic installed snuggly in the battery tray in the normal battery location. The phoenix 25 controller and JR610 receiver are as close to the front as the space provided over the top of the wing would allow.

I was worried about potential CG problems needlessly it seems. It just magically balanced spot on with the pack/engine I chose.
