A different approach to wearing FatShark FPV goggles

While doing some research I stumbled upon this innovative way of wearing your Fatshark video goggles. From flightevolution.com comes the Clearview FPV Goggle kit. Granted, the idea isn't new; I've seen people mod snow skiing goggles for years to fit their FPV headsets. But this seems to be one of the 1st commercially available kits, and looks like they got it right from the get-go. The Clearview FPV Goggle kit is available in either white or black, and includes goggles, goggle bag, band and black lens. Just add your FatShark goggles and you’re ready to fly.

Specs:

  • Weight: 450 g
  • Dimensions: 250 x 150 x 50 mm
  • Color: Black, White

I have been able to use mine for a few flights now with dominator googles. At first I thought it felt like looking through a tunnel to a movie screen, however.... Once I flew with them I no longer noticed a difference. They are much easier to take on and off and more comfortable.

I talked to a prior owner who informed me that since the goggles are actually further from the eye using this mod, he was unable to capture the entire picture due to his IPD requirements. This became more evident the further from the face the goggles were positioned.

Cool idea though as it may help prevent fogging and light penetration. I would like to see a full review on these if one exists. Also, with the FS strap removed, where does the battery now mount?

Well it's not a review, it's an advertisement, actually.
There is no battery mount. You have to make your own.

The screens on the dominator aren't properly positioned, it's hard to have a full picture view indeed. This makes it hard to see the OSD if you have OSD letters on top and bottom of the screen for example.

They're otherwise comfortable. I'm not sure if I wanna keep mine right now. For $50, I expected something that just works.

I look forward to a review as well.

Im not at all concerned about battery though. You can tap into tx or make an extension and just put battery in your pocket

I put velcro on mine and it grips fine to the goggles strap

Not an advert, just a news article. I look for interesting stuff related to FPV and post it as a news article. No money exchanged hands or products sent out. Just me keeping you guys up to date on fpv goodies

I sold my FS Predators some time back...glad I did, don't miss them. I can see where this mask would make the FS more comfortable (one of the reasons I sold mine). It's a bummer FS can't/hasn't designed something like this from the get go. Oh well. I use Vuzix Wrap 920's in ski goggles...absolutely love the comfort of the goggles vs the FS eye cups.
