Help!
Dx6i problem

Hi everyone. Was flying on a sim today when my elevator channel stopped working. I had problems with phoenix all day today so I just assumed it was the software but when I took out a plane in the front yard it just hit the ground. I googled it and read that some had sent it in but I'm curious if anyone has found a fix for it? Not even a year old so I don't want to do anything to jeopardize my warranty but just thought I'd ask if someone had a trick up there sleeve. If not maybe someone close to DC has a tx I can borrow for the weekend? Dad is in town and we're supposed to take out my new carbon cub. Thanks guys
Mike

If you look at the servo monitor and the channel does move I suggest you have it serviced.

It moves about a quarter of a bracket on the monitor. I'm guessing that makes it no bueno.....haha.

Double check on blank model memory just to make sure no mixing is playing tricks on you.

As usual, it's a problem with resistor. Here you can see some photos, how to solve this problem, using conductive adhesive. http://www.rccontrol.ru/forum/viewto...it=DX6i#p14540 I did this. It's working.

But he has a transmitter under warranty. Send it back for servicing! Horizon Hobby are very good about these things as long as you haven't messed around with it too much yourself.

Thanks guys. I just sent it back. Asked them if I can just upgrade to a dx7 for a fee too. Couple dx6i txs on Craigslist for cheap, might pick one up as back up.

So you just put the conductive adhesive on the spots that are circled?

Yes. In this way I fixed the two resistors at my DX6i and one at DX5e. And still need to bend the pins so that they are not crawling over pureed part of the resistive layer. This way you can restore the resistors on any other transmitters.
I understand that the topic-starter's transmitter is ander warranty, but I think that this information helps to further explore the transmitter device and treatment of childhood diseases.

I don't know about childhood diseases but I definitely agree with the gaining of knowledge. Kind of like taking your dad's drill apart and putting back together as a kid.

Cheers

For some reason when I did that I always had left over parts.

Now I'm glad I got girls and they show no interest in my hobby, would hate to have them take my planes apart, put them back together and have left over parts just like when I was a kid.
