Skylark Tiny III OSD

The Tiny III provides essential in-flight data during an fpv mission.

Splash

Small and lightweight with just enough in-flight data.

The Tiny III from Skylark is an on-screen-display that provides essential flight data during an fpv mission. There are many advantages to using an on screen display, with the most important ones being battery pack voltage/milliamps used, distance from home, and a way-home arrow. When the plane is powered on and the Tiny III initializes, it begins hunting for satellites. When it locks onto enough, it will store its current location as home. As you fly, an arrow will always point to the direction that the Tiny III initialized. This feature is a great safety measure due to the high likelihood that you will get lost at some point during your fpv career.

The Tiny III installs quickly and doesn't require any special programming. You can, however, set the measurement units between metric and imperial, as well as customize your osd view from the minimalist all the way up to the heads-up-display style ladders on each side showing airspeed and altitude. All adjustments are done in the Skylark osd software, that is downloadable from their website. After the flight, it will display a summary of the flight's gps data stream.

You do awesome reviews Mr Matt!

I like the specs on these...does anyone know of a source in the USA?
I am not into 1-month deliveries from China.

I have a couple of these--have worked very well for me. Love how quickly the GPS locks on. I use the simple screen without the home icon and aircraft location. I do have a question. In the sample screen shouldn't the aircraft location be above the home icon?

No, and that's the only thing I don't like about this unit.

The icon always has the top as north. So if you are standing at your groundstation and facing another direction, the OSD will still show your plane location relative to north above the center icon. Sound confusing? it is.

So in that picture I was facing south and launched. That put the plane icon below the center/home icon and represented it being south.

Your are right, it is confusing. As I said, I use it without those features. I do like the units. I just put another one on my brand new long range bird.

Dual Battery setup.

Hey Guys,
I have the Tiny OSD III and it works fine, however, I use a separate battery for my FPV gear, is there a way I can wire up the Tiny OSD with the dual batteries and can I monitor both battery voltages??

Cheers,
Smithy.

This is the hobbyking rebranded version. Exactly the same.

I am having issues connecting my Skylark one to update it. Anyone have this issue on Windows 8?
