BN-2 EDF, any good?
Im looking at the GWS BN-2. I was going to get he dual prop vertion, but i have not been able to find it localy. However, most of my local hobby shops stock the twin EDF BN-2.
I have read one thread about the EDF BN-2, and it was a positive report, however, his was very light at about 12.3 OZ ready to fly. He was useing a 7 cell 720 nimh for power if my memory is correct.
I built and flew a twin 757 powerd by two GWS EDF 50's, it ran off a 6 cell 600 AE nicad. Flew realy good and had a good rate of climb. Altough it did take some time to climb, it's not like flying a brushless.
The 6 cell battery died after a while, the only similar size i have left is a 8 cell 600 AE pack. I know this will probly fry the motors pretty fast, but what if i wierd the motors in series? This would probly put alot less strain on the motor.
I have a 7 cell 650 AAA nimh SOMEwhere, but i just need to find it. If i do i will use it.
Is it worth it for the EDF BN-2? Or would it be best to find the dual proped one?
Thanks for any input
P.S. Dose anyone have video of a EDF BN-2 flying?

Re: builer, builer, anyone?
My overall impression was that the plane flies well, but it requires a bit more TLC than the prop version. I have replaced 2 EDF-50 motors so far, in maybe 30 or so flights.
The plane is suprisingly fast, once it gets going, but the EDF 50s don't give you much in the way of power to spare. You'll need to be prepared to fly by the wing, like a slope glider.
So I guess it just depends on what you are after with the plane.. if you don't mind a bit of a challenge, the EDF version will be fun (but expect to replace the EDF 50s regularly or upgrade them)... if you are looking for some no-hassle parkflying fun, get the prop version.
