Making scale light weight wire spoked wheels

Hey guys, I need some help. I would like to fabricate some light weight simulated wire spoked wheels for my vintage scale aircraft and am not sure how to go about this project.
Sometime back, I ran across an article in one of the model airplane magazines which gave an excellent idea for building simulated wire spoked wheels for light weight aircraft. I have not been able to relocate the saved article or the magazine.
Any suggestions, ideas or articles you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance........Greg Knipp
