There are several planes and several motors on this. I'm replacing 8-KAN stick pack (2 columns of 4-end-to-end).
1. Miniflash 2. GWS warbirds 3. HET RC yak-1 (http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showt...hreadid=184909) 4. Hummingbird heli 5. 34"-46" wingspan scale warbird (still thinking) |

2100 not good for 25 amps, you would need to go to 2p. 15 amps are ok for short period, not continous. I try to avg about a 4C discharge. Seems to me there is a problem rating cells at a constant C rate. It is good to know to compare brand X to brand Y but as far actually using the pack, I like to know what is the max short term discharge and the voltage drop at that rate, along with the max recommended avg discharge. Personally I like to fly for 10-15 min so a 4-5C avg discharge is good, and would like to be able to go to 10C for short periods of time, That is the cell I want.

I have heard multiple people relate that they use TP 2100 3s1p packs at 18a static/14a constant and that while they get reduced capacity (80% i think) the packs hold voltage under the load. I'd say for 15a a 3s2p pack of etec 1200's could pull it off... or you could just use a 3s2p pack of TP2100's all the time and it'd be good for ~25a.

Sorry for the misunderstanding. Seems like TP might not be my choice.
I'm not running GWS EPS300 or EPS350, I'm running all BL; 1. Mega 16/7/7 2.8:1 APC9x7.5E ..... should run <= 12 A cont. 2. MpJet 25/35-20 4:1 APC9x6SF/E ..... should run <= 15 A cont. 3. Mega 16/15/4 2.5:1 APC11x7E 11x8E .... should run <=25 A cont. I would prefer 3s pack vs 3s2p pack if I have choice. Is any other good brand/ model I should look? PS: I ran EPS300 with 8-KAN and GWS1080, it last only 5 flights

now I'm confused, if you need to fit a particular battery compartment then you are somewhat limited to which cells. E-tec 1200 cells are about the same widht and height as the 2100 pack but not as long (about 2/3 as long), you could get two 1200 packs to fit if you have the length. Like I said before, the TP 2100 would fit an existing compartment setup for 2 sticks of 4 2/3a cells. Either the TP2100 or 2p of the Etecs would fit the first 2 applications. I only have exp with E-tecs and TP so can not comment on irate or tanics. Is there a space consideration? Do you fly wide open throttle for the entire flight?

So you fly full throttle all the time when you are flying?
If so, then the current you see on the ground with a fresh pack is much higher than it will be in the air - especially at the end of a flight. 1. Mega 16/7/7 2.8:1 APC9x7.5E ..... should run <= 12 A cont. This is easy for the TP2100-3S packs. In the air, it will unload to around 11 amps or slightly less. 2. MpJet 25/35-20 4:1 APC9x6SF/E ..... should run <= 15 A cont. Again, still easy for the TP2100-3S packs. In the air, the current will be closer to 14 amps. The newest 2100s you can order directly from TP by calling them are capable of 7C continuous (14.7 amps). 3. Mega 16/15/4 2.5:1 APC11x7E 11x8E .... should run <=25 A cont. In the air, around 23 amps or so. You could easily use the TP4200-3S2P pack. It is built using the 2100s and is capable of 29 amps continuous and sells for $140 direct from TP. If you fly wide open throttle all the time with this set up, you will toast your 16/15/4 motor @ 25 amps. MY guess is that you throttle back somewhat on all your models, so the average current draw is less than you have listed. IF you order the newest TP2100s direct from TP, they will easily handle your requirements since they are capable of 7C continuous and up to 10-12C in short 5-10 second bursts.
