7 cell 2100nicd charging/discharge help
I have a Hobbico Superstar and need some help on what to charge the battery at and for how long. Do I need to worry about discharging if I run the battery all the way down. Its a NICD 7 cell 2100. I have a Superbrain 959 and a Duratrax Intellipeak Pulse Charger.

I use 2100 Mah nicads and I never discharge them. I have a motor and prop that does this nicely. Recycling of cells is more important in smaller nicad's and nimh's.

It wouldn't hurt to cycle the pack a few times initially at C/10 charge rate. I do discharge then recharge my NiCds and NiMh every now and again 0- whether it does any good, I'm not sure, but I don't think it does them any harm.
You can charge your pack for normal use at 2C (~4A) - I know others who suggest that 3C is okay for NiCd, but I'm never in that much of a hurry!
