1258MHz & 1280MHz Pico Video Transmitters from ReadyMadeRC.com

Check out these micro video transmitters!

Small but Mighty!

Readymaderc.com has introduced a pair of micro video transmitters that take advantage of the stronger 23 cm band. Including a well-performing dipole antenna, the total weight of these little vtx's is only 3 grams. While frequency selection is limited compared to 5.8GHz, you can expect greater range and signal penetration from 1.2GHz. These transmitters are perfect for micro quads airplanes, and work with any receivers that have 1258 or 1280 channels.

Specifications:

  • Frequency 1258 MHz
  • Power Output: 30-50mW
  • Includes transmitter with integrated dipole antenna
  • Power requirements: 5V, 20mA
  • Weight: 3g including transmitter, antenna, and integrated power/video cable
  • Wiring:
  • Red: 5v
  • Black: Ground
  • Yellow: Video

Subscribed. I have one of these on order to experiment with a micro quad around my front yard or basement during cold windy days. I am going to pair it with a 3 gram wide angle CMOS 5V camera and power it with a Pololu 5V Step-Up/Step-Down Voltage Regulator weighing less than a gram. I am going to try sharing the input with the flight lipo, but if the line noise is too bad I will use a single UMX 1S 70-120mah battery. My first try will be on the Blade mQX. My biggest concern is the 1280 video stepping on the 2.4 ghz control and reducing range. My second is keeping the weight down. The canopy weighs just over 5 grams, so If I can ditch it for a small mount for the FPV gear I may only be adding 5 grams net.

I want one as well. I foolishly ordered a 5.8GHz micro unit and then saw this little gem after I ordered!

And yes, the noise will be too strong from the integrated esc's. I build one as well and even with a filter, I couldn't get rid of the lines. A separate video lipo solved it for me.

I've used this on my micro hex. Range is pretty decent. I get about 300 feet in an urban enviroment with a stock dipole on the receiver. I upgraded to a patch antenna and can get quite a bit more then that, and much better behind building penetration. Works awesome for my application.

Well, in this case a separate 1s 100mah lipo with step up regulator may be better than a filter unless the filter can be built very light but most of the ones I have seen use heavy torrid rings.

I think this is just what I've been waiting for. Also looking to use it on a very small Quad like the V959 or maybe even 1SQ.

big advance for the ongoing long range micro FPV challenge. maybe 2km or 3km in reach now with AUW of 100g???

got my micro FrSky receiver ready and will add signal amp to it. this vTx and my micro Stryker ...

but then only 50mW. better be a very good antenna - maybe a V if it can be made light enough. I have the tuned patch

must buy now

I have a friend here in town who picked up a 10mW 1280 vTx. He is not heavily into FPV, but he is a very smart dude - I think an electronics engineer. He made his own CP antennas using a SWR meter. He easily achieved 600m clear video on 10mW on a sub-mini sized all-carbon quad. nice

found the thread here with his little quad. not micro, but smaller than mini size. He told me he designed it and had all parts laser cut. fine craftsman. This was with Multiwii and it flies great. so small too. And yes, 600m+ with solid video on 10Mw
