CG on a MM Zagi

I got my MM mounted on the back of my Zagi, but I cannot get the CG right, Did you guys use weight, how did you get the CG forward. Is the MM moved forward, ie clearance between prop and back of wing is less than .5 inch. I put it in the trees because of stability problems yesterday. It sure flies rough with the CG off, it is about where my spar is now and not maneuverable at all.

Advice?
TIA

I had to add a little nose weight. Next project is to cut out the stock tray so I can move the batt further forward.

Is your spar installed 8" from the front ?.

8" is also the correct CG, right ?.

motor size

Just bought a MM from tower hobbies. Got the reversed Magnetic Mayhem motor. Seems to be alot fatter than the stock speed 400. Did I get the right one?

I didn't have any probs with the cg on mine, but I don't use the stock battery tray. You can eliminate the front part of the battery tray and just mount a piece of coroplast instead, and velcro to that. Look in the Dreams of a vertical Zagi thread , for a drawing of a simple coroplast battery tray setup.

Yes you have the right motor, the MM is fatter then a speed 400. The quick andd dirty way of mounting it is to just shim under it with balsa and strap it on.

I will get my site up asap with pics and such.---Rob
