You must use "Airplane Mode" and use the settings I listed.
See my Tx Setup Guide and use Model - Type - AERO.

Let me know if you still need help.

Motor Wire Short in Aluminum Motor Fixing Pipe

I went to bind and fly my quad. As soon as I connected the battery to the quad the brushless speed controller went up in smoke!

The quad has been working good until now. It has not been crashed or damaged.

I did some trouble shooting and found that there is a short with one of the motors.
I removed the motor and motor wires and found the short.
The black motor wire insulation was torn 4mm long during factory assembly causing a short and blowing out the brushless speed controller.

The brushless speed controller is very expensive at $106.00 plus shipping.

Update

Hobbyone is sending me a new Brushless Speed Controller and motor wire set at no charge.
They are also sending me the Light Flashing Board to review.

I bought more lights and when I get the new ESC installed I'll make another night video with the flashing lights.

Thanks Hobbyone for sending me a replacement ESC.

Tom,

I have the standard MX400 with the Devo 7. Is it possible to hook the DV04 camera directly to the MX400 for video recording without FPV? Or do I need to buy the TX5803/4 as well?

Hi,

Hobbyone told me that an ESC is being made for me and it should be done today. Everybody seems to be out of stock of the ESC.

I will post when I get the ESC and the quad flying again. I will be making a night video with the flashing light board they are sending me.

I did see the Video TX Power Amplifier. I have not tried it. It sounds good but it is heavy at 48g.

Todd,

You can use the DV04 without FPV. You would not need the TX5803/4 then as that is what is sending the FPV to the transmitter.

The DV04 wires go into the TX5803/4.

To use the DV04 without the TX5803/4 all you would need is power which would be the red and black wires and the blue wire
would go to the Receiver AUX.

Do you know if there is a place to plug in the power off the MX400 board, or would i need to custom wire something?

My ESC and flashing light board has just been shipped. I should have it on 4-22-03
and will have the quad running again with the flashing lights the same day.

I bought more lights including some strips that change 4 different colors.

You will need to do some custom wiring.
Here is the way I think you would need to do it.
Cut off the DV04 wired plug, then hook up the red and black wires to 5V power which the DC socket on the MX400 board supplies 5V
for a camera or lights.
The blue wire needs to get plugged into the AUX on the Rx if you want to turn on and off the camera with your Tx.
If not you can start and stop the camera with the red button on the DV04. See my review for details.

Quad fixed and flying again. Flashing lights added.

I got my new ESC and the quad is flying again.
I also added the lights with the flashing board that I bought.
These are Tri color LED's. They flash Red, Blue, and Green colors.
