Problem 1430 TP Charger

Hi,

I have one problem with one of my TP 1430 charger (actual software 2.6IR):

I charged a 10 s 4500 battery pack with 1 c (4,5 A). After about 50 minutes the charger is about 0,60 A charging; cells about 4,19 V. But the charger does not stopp !! Charger charging further and further with about 0,6 Amps.

Now I (!!)I stopped charging, pressing ENTER and starting again to charge. 3-4 seconds later the display showed "complete charge" and the cells are showing suddenly 4,24/4,26 volts !

Any idea why the 1430 does not stopp charging the first time ? My dealer alreday changed this "problem 1430" to a new one, but same problem !

My second charger 1430 works ok; I sent serveral mails to TP, but no answer !

Any idea ?

regards

I also have a problem and would be interested to see your individual cell voltages.
I was running software 2,4 and found that the charger took 1hr 50 min on charge and still hadnt balanced a 10S/ 4900 mah battery.
What i discovered was that the last cell had a very low voltage and the second last cell had a very high voltage, The result was such that the balancer couldnt bring the charge to a conclusion.
I went back to my older TP1010C charger and ran thru a number of cycles till the cells came back within tolerance.
I then loaded software 2.6IR but experienced the same problem.
I'm thinking it is a balancing issue within the charger, can you test and report your cell volts to see?
Iam going back to my retailer/distributor.

Hi,

thank´s for info. As I told: one 1430 with 2.6 software works fine.

The second not with 2.6.

After about 40-50 this charger is charging/balancing with 0,5 A and does not stopp.

All 10 s cells are in the situation shown in display with 4,18/4,19 V. Not more difference. Stopping now chagring, then start charging again directly after 2-3 seconds in display "charging complete" and all cells are showing 4,26/4,27 V.

I can really not understand, that Thunderpower support does not answer; I sent about 5 mails; not any reaction.

I had TP 1010 charger (great), I have TP 820 (great); I have 2 TP power supply (great) and 2 x TP1430.

So I love TP products, but the support for me as actually not good....

Look here from german heli forum:

http://www.rc-heli.de/board/showthread.php?t=216275

the same; with 2.4 working, with 2.6 charging even up to 4,28 V ! AND NO ANSWER FROM TP !

Hallo,

some info:

meanwhile TP suport answered; they suggested to send charger back if it works with 2.4, but not with 2.6 software. But why one charger is working with 2.6 and the other not ; noboday can say.

Even the third new charger from my dealer does not work with 2.6.

Hallo,

some new infos:

Meanwhile the 1340, which first was ok, also does not work anymore as it should. So both 1430 are changed to new ones from my dealer; the 2 two 1430 worked about 3 weeks; but than both chargers showed the same problems again.

Overcharging some cells up to 4,28 V; also the charger does not stopp ! The balancing dots in the display are gone etc. (software 2,6). Sometimes nothingin the display.

So next week I will get now charger 5 and 6 ... the last try !

I think - meanwhile I heard from other users - the quality is not more as good as in former times.

Regards

Maybe you should consider going over to FMA (Revolectrix) chargers. Quality is first class and service, which is rarely needed, is also first class.

Hi,

got this morning the 2 new TP 1430...; but again

Charger 1 is only charging and charging; not stopping althought cells are 4,24 V.

Charger 2 the same; for more than 2 hours the charger is charging with 0,6 A and cells about 4,19 V. Than suddenly in display cells are going up to 4,28 V !!! I stopped charging; cells checked with lipo checker = from 4,28 V the cells 10S pack.

This was TP 1430 charger Nr. 5 and 6 ! All 6 TP 143o same problems !

Thanks to my dealer to change so many times

But TP quality ???

1010 TP was great, but 1430 ? No go. I do not know what TP is doing, perhaps they changed the producer ?

I have all documented with pictures for my dealer.

TP: please change your quality or the new producer

Hi,

TP answers that they have calibration iusses and they are working to solve the problems with 1430 chargers.

mmhh... I am really asking if they tested the 1430 before selling.

With TP 820 after latest update, a lot of 820 chargers had big problems; also overcharging cells up to 4,26 V and not stopping charging. Some users went back to old 3.9 version and all we again ok then.

Wish to get back same perfect quality like with old TP 1010 ...
