It looks like you could repair your broken strut by soldering it?

Strut

I cant see where it is broken. Is it something that could be fixed with that stuff you get at auto supply stores? The name escapes me. "I know Im old". Some kind of metal mend puddy. Question is how did it break? Is the shaft bent or the prop unbalanced badly?
Bob
Ok I see it now.
If it were me I would get a wet rag, cut a small slot in it, place it over the strut so it absorbs the heat at the base of the strut and use a propane torch and plumbing solder and flux.(outside) Just get the parts warm enough to melt the solder. the stuffing tube should keep the parts aligned, but not being there it could be off.

I guess there is a first time for everything. I soldered it back on, I used my soldering iron and used some solder. Looks good to me. I found a strut kit for the pt boat and ordered it to see if they are the same. Will let you all know.
Thanks Kmot
