Blade SR 6 ch ?

I was wondering if this heli is ok to train for 6 ch operation. I have no plans on 3 d but just started to fly 6 ch. Mcp-x/ Genius c/p for now. Also have Master c/p.
i plan on using DX6i and not stock TX. I believe rx is AR6100 dsm2 and ths will work fine. I know some have had bad issues with this but been flying about a year. Quads FBL 4 ch / sim etc. So any input would be helpful. Cheers/Dan

I don't think you would like it very much. The head design is quite old and you would probably find it sloppy compared to the micros you've been flying. The motor driven tail can be a problem as it has a hard time keeping up sometimes and does a certain amount of hunting. The motor will wear out, too. I've owned several of the previous models and the flybarless micros are more stable.

Thanks for reply. I agree about mico FBL helis. Once you get feel for them pretty awesome. SR sounds not to good. Guess break down and reassemble V400D02. FBL 6 ch and improve weak points.

Well, you are a lot younger than me and adapt a lot easier. I'm well beyond the point where I'm looking for new challenges. So, I found myself having to deal with traits that annoyed me, where you may not mind. How about a 300X?

Yeah I had a couple of Blade SR helis and they aren't as durable as Horizon says they are. While my brushed tail motor never wore out - even after several crashes - it did have a hard time keeping up with the gyro. It just doesn't react fast enough. You never can quite get the "hunt" out of it. It was either hunting or slight drift. And the Blade SR was marketed as a beginner heli and was smaller than the Blade 400, yet parts were more expensive?

Blade makes good helis but you could definitely do better than the SR.

if you have a mCPX i wouldnt bother with it
your better off with a sim

I resisted and let it pass. Glad I did as out of date heli. Thanks all for input.
I see no positive input about this heli.

As a previous owner of a Blade SR I have to say its certainly not for beginners.
A well setup T-Rex 250 is a much better choice

I don't think a T-Rex 250 is a good choice for beginners. They are very twitchy and expensive to repair... compared to other helis I mean.
