Thunder Power G8 Batteries

Rated at 70C ! Smaller and supposed to be cheaper as well (still pricey), check out the link.

A 3S 2250 mah 45C G6 is $49.99 while the G8 is $46.99

I'd like to pick a couple of these up but I don't see them for sale yet, at least not online.
Anyone found a place who sells them?

On the other hand, maybe now will be a good time to pick up some G6 packs on clearance

I don't see them for sale anywhere yet either Strider. They were just announced a few days ago. Guessing give it another week or two.

Will be interesting to see if they actually perform better and the G8 / 70C label is not just clever marketing. From various tests that I've seen, the G6 65C performed no better than the G6 45C and in some cases even performed worse, indicating that the marketing department was busier than the engineering department...

I like the fact that they are getting more compact and cheaper, although not much cheaper.

I like that they are smaller and also lighter. I only fly Ultra Micros at the moment and I like to keep things as light as possible.

Really? They still are not anywhere near the same price classes.

Got an e-mail from AMainHobbies that the G6 are 10% off. Not sure I'd bite on that though since the G8 seem to be between 5% and 10% off the G6 prices so not really saving much money by getting previous gen.

Its just over doublebtge price of a gens ace pack in some cases. You get a lighter pack and to customer service.

Well worth imho

Thunder Power packs are well known, but be aware that 'G8' does not necessarily mean high C ratings. Their web site lists G8's from 25C on up, depending on the sub-series.
