I was flying a Shooter. This is my stiff one that has extra carbon in the spar, spread tow skin, disser tail, and extra carbon in fuse plus fuse ballast tube.
Reto is also flying Shooters.
Stock model is 2340g and I had 2100g of ballast. So surface loading was 67.9 g/dm2 or 22.25 oz/sq ft.
Fuse ballast is brass, wings had combination of tungsten, lead, and brass.
JR12X for TX with JR 3717HV on v-tails and JR 398HV's in the wing with a Hyperion 1450 pack.
Winch was a Oberflugmodellbau EW4 with Lucas 3M100 motor, 250mm x 45mm drum and a WinchDoctor Pulley at the turnaround. Line was 1.32 Megaline with a Mr Kite chute.

Now we know, why they launch(ed) Space Shuttles in Florida. It has nothing to do with being close to the equator - the thermals are just that massive !

By way of comparison 50 legs in 200 seconds on F5B course at a world champs is pretty close to the record. If we take out the 20 seconds for the 10 under power climbs that's an average speed of 150 kph or 14.4 seconds average for a 4 leg set on a 150 metre course. F5B only gets the 10 climbs so the average speed is reduced by the need to do up to 5 6 leg sets in the 200 seconds. hope not too off topic. Must have been fun to be there.

Log of fastest speed runs
Where is that rc groups compiled entry log of fastest speed runs.
I want to see if my last weekends 13.98 and 13.10 make it on the list.

Reto tends the list. There will be a bunch added from this last weekend, although I bet it gets truncated to sub 13.0 second times soon enough Maybe 13.5 and below.... 13.10 is fast as heck, it was a sweet tight run Rich.

Hey Rich et al
Please post you time, name, model, date and location in the speed list thread, I will copy it into the list.
I will truncate the list at 13.15s to keep up with the influx of 13s, I think.
